School Story:
When I was a junior in high school I was walking to drivers ed. As you remember I was a late bloomer. At 100 lbs and 5 foot 2, I was not much of a threat. Anyway, I thought I would be brave and save time by taking a short cut through the parking lot behind the shop building. It was a hot summer day. The elite parking lot crew decided to have a little fun with a scrawny sophomore. All my efforts to convince the "drop-outs" I was a junior were vain. I was forced to "push a penny" as a junior. After a lot of therapy, and support groups, and a electroconvulsive therapy, I can now share this openly.
Another story.
Dough Roberts tells of a the madrigals concert and the midieval feast. The choir director, I don't remember her name talked me into wearing the tights and walking on my hands as part of the entertainment to the guests. I thought it would be cool to enter in by walking on my hands. I had no idea how far I would have to walk. After passing through the main doors, I was surprised to discover that the floors were covered with sawdust. This meant it was very slippery. With great effort I managed to make my way to the last table. Exhausted, my arms noodled. It was a good thing that my head caught me. My arms were so tired I just jogged out of the cafeteria.
