I work in residential treatment for adolescents. I have done so for the last twelve years. I spent about ten of those years working directly with the kids but have moved to the administrative side as I cannot seem to keep up with teenagers as well as I used to, at least not 80 of them. The facilities I have worked at contract with other states and I have had the opportunity to work with inner city gang-involved youth from Chicago as well as FASD diagnosed children from villages across Alaska (and pretty much everything else in between). I have enjoyed my work tremendously but often wish that I had not been in such a hurry to work "hands on" and had completed my education instead. Prior to going into residential treatment I spent about six years working in group homes with autistic individuals. I remember those years fondly but don't think that I could ever do that again. I have moved around the wasatch front but spent about 15 years living in Clearfield. Several years ago I moved back to Farmington when my grandmother passed away. I live in her home which is next door to my parents because they did not want to sell both homes and move after her passing. It's been a great experience for me, I love being back in Farmington however I sometimes feel like a teenager under the close watch of my parents, ugh! I was married in my early twenties but did not ever go down that path again. I am currently seeing someone and if he hangs in there thru August, I will bring him to the reunion, if not, I will be attending stag unless Stephanie still needs a date, lol.
