Kaysville, Utah - Allen Smith Lloyd passed away Peacefully at home on July 15, 2023
Allen was born on January 19, 1945 to Lewis Reed and Marie Smith Lloyd.
Allen grew up in Kaysville Utah, where many memories were formed. Allen spent many hours helping his parents in their fruit orchard. When not helping in the orchard Allen found the time to get into trouble. Marie Allen’s mom said, "he is the cause for every gray hair I have." Although he was a hand full the love his parents had for him was unconditional. Allen loved to go deer hunting and fishing with his dad. Christmas was his favorite holiday. He cherished all of them spent with his family, opening gifts was a ritual for him.
Allen also loved cars and when the time came for him to get his driver's license, he realized he loved to go fast and race causing a lot of his cars to be totaled and losing a big toe in the process. He graduated from Davis High school where his Favorite class was shop. Allen was very mechanical and loved to tinker in his garage. His daughter Valerie always said, “He could fix anything.” On a summer day that garage would be the hangout for him and all his biker buddies. His friends gave him the nickname "Doc" because he would fix all their motorcycles.
Allen was a welder and worked at Fabriweld in Clearfield Utah, building roller coaster tracks for places like lagoon and worked there for many years.
Allen was a free spirit and had a passion for motorcycles. “oh, how he loved to Ride and feel the wind in his hair.” He just recently got to ride his Harley for the last time.
They say Grandpa’s should not have Favorites, but his grandson Austin and him had an incredibly special Bond. They shared that passion for motorcycles and could talk for hours about them. Austin will miss all his conversations with his grandpa.
Allen is survived by his sweetheart Kathy Lloyd, Two daughters Valerie and Diane. Donna Lloyd, mother of his daughters. Six Grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Allen will be missed by all those who loved him.
“Enjoy the ride old Man.”
