- Our perfect mother, wife, daughter, and sister, Cathy, passed away October 7, 2000 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Nov. 22, 1953 in Salt Lake City, UT, a daughter of Edward H. Wright and Catherine Whitworth Wright Olson. She married Richard Charles Lessey, Jr. March 2, 1974 in Layton. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple, Dec 10, 1976.
She was born and raised in Layton and Kaysville, had lived in Sunset and West Point. She graduated from Davis High School in 1972.
Cathy was active in the LDS Church. She served many years in the Young Women's, Primary and Relief Society, touching many lives. She exemplified Christ-like love and charity to her family and all who knew her. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. She loved the gospel and found joy in giving service to others.
Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Richard Charles Lessey, Jr.; two sons, Chad Richard (Amber) Lessey, West Point, Brody James (Iesha) Lessey, Logan; four daughters, Katy Ann (Brett) Russell, Clinton, Jennifer Lessey, Krystal Lessey, Amber Jean Lessey, all of West Point; her mother, Catherine W. Olson, Kaysville; five brothers, Ronald E. (Dana) Wright, Fruit Heights, James D. (Nyla) Wright, Clinton, David C. (Jamie) Wright, West Point, Ted M. (Karen) Wright, Sunset, Tim H. (Kelly) Wright, Syracuse; and one sister, Rebecca W. (Lloyd) Vincent, South Jordan, UT. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward H. Wright.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tues. Oct. 10, 2000, West Point LDS Stake Center, 550 N. 2300 W. Friends and family may call Mon. 6-8 p.m., Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N, Fairfield and at the church Tues 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, West Point City Cemetery.

Cathy died from injuries from a car accident. She was with her daughter who wasn't hurt. I went to the viewing the night before. So many people there. She was loved.... I saw her daughter, she looked just like Cathy in high school.
