I remember the Baldwins as friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming.I remember many group events in their big yard, including the trampoline and ice hockey in the winter.I was very sad to learn of Fred’s death. I remember an enjoyable phone conversation with Fred just after graduation from college.Fred reminded me a bit of Dustin Hoffman in the Graduate; he appeared to be searching for something that he could not quite identify.I loved his wit and humor. I am sorry I never got a chance to catch up with him later in life.
I remember Fred as friendly and generous. A sweet guy! Always with a big smile. A fellow member of the Latin and Physics clubs, and fellow Lab Squad worker. It somewhat surprised me when I learned he had won a place at the US Military Academy, but reading of his family history, it now makes sense.
