Richard Seaman Criss of Grand Island, a journeyman pressman and veteran of the Vietnam War, requested that his body be donated to the University of Buffalo Medical Center.  The 56 year old native of Canandaigua died on Sunday, May 28, 2006 in DeGraff Hospital, N.T., after a long illness.  Mr. Criss, a graduate of Kenmore West High School, served in the Air Force from 1969 to 1973 and was an airplane mechanic in Vietnam.  He served his apprenticeship and became a journeyman pressman at the Buffalo Evening News and later worked for other publications and printing establishments, including the Tonawanda News, Courier Express and Buffalo Newspress.  Mr. Criss, a Grand Island resident for 33 years, enjoyed playing golf, hunting and attending Buffalo Bandits lacrosse games.  He is survived by his wife of 36 years, the former Alphia L. Prossner, a daughter, two brothers and two grandchildren.
