I went to live on the North Shore for a while after graduation and worked in the hotel business in Byfield Massachusetts. I was a manager for Howard Johnson's at Rowley and Stoneham Massachusetts as well as Methuen.
I was later the chef at The Sand Dollar in York and Julie's Ristorante and Poor Richard's Pub in Ogunquit
I came back to Kennebunk and spent several years at the Kennebunk Inn and at the Unicorn and Lion
before starting Square toes Restaurant (Old location) in Kennebunk. I left Squaretoes in 1989.
I am currently retired after twenty-three years as clinical Coordinator for persons with Developmental Disabilities. That's a fancy title for the guy who writes the care plans,
I am battling stage three lung cancer and crippling arthritis. I have a positive outlook and even though I have had 19 chemo-therapies and 35 radiation treatments, I keep on ticking and feel pretty good.
I am the Guardian for my brother, Dan who has a developmental disability and is deaf. He resides in Gorham.
. I was an AIDS Activist for many years. I was associated with Peabody House and The Frannie Peabody Center and served on the board of The People With AIDS Coalition of Maine.
My own partner, Wayne Brassard, died of AIDS in 1999. I remain HIV Negative, I am a rabid supporter of Hospice Care and fight daily for the rights of people to end their lives where they want and how they want,
i recently served as a chaplain at a small local church in Portland called the Circle of Hope.
I try to keep busy and make a difference in the world.
