School Story:
Our family moved to Kenosha from Bismarck, North Dakota in December of 1952. I had already gone to two other schools that year (Kansas and North Dakota). I started school at Mary D. Bradford in January of 1953. Our family moved around a lot since our dad tore down buildings, such as court houses and hotels.
There were five girls in our family.
Our dad did get a job as a foreman at American Motors in 1954, therefore, I was so fortunate to finish my junior year and also my senior year at Mary D. Bradford.
I met so many friends at Bradford and enjoyed being there. Miss Kronenwetter was my typing teacher and she was so patient with me even though I had come into her class so late in the year. I would see her years later as she took her class on a tour of the office at American Motors where I worked in the Treasury Department for some years. She always said hello. Mr. Rafshael was the same. Always remembered me.
