There is no such place as "downtown Kentfield." That term is a misnomer, and using it permits the user, and invites the listener/reader, to accept an assumption regarding development of the Kentfield neighborhood that is unwarranted and unwelcome. If this group does anything it should challenge this assumption and the related belief that our neighborhood "needs" development. Landscaping, upgrading (and in some cases replacing) outdated and unusable buildings are fine, but "development" as that term is used by the Vision Committee would result in fundamental changes in the character of our neighborhood of which the majority of Kentfield residents are unaware and, I believe, would not support if they were fully informed. One of this organization's chief goals should be to see that all Kentfield residents are fully informed, and so far that has not been done.
