Hopley Douglas

Left Wolmers on May 11, 1981 in lower 6th;
Worked at Citibank N.A., Jamaica June 1981 - September 2003 (many thanks to my English teacher Mr. Lloyd Bryan and his wife Mrs. Grace Bryan for helping me to get that much needed job;
Married in 2001;
Came to live in New York June 2004;
Joined Northfork Bank (now Capital One Bank) August 2006 - present;
Divorced in 2007;

Attended Wolmers 1975 - 1981.
Have fond memories of my best friend (since 2nd form) and I collecting soft drink bottles from the school yard and selling them at a depot on Brentford Road. We enjoyed coco bread and patty from a bakery on Slipe Road.
Learned to play chess from watching classmates (like Andrew Walker) play this interesting board game every time we had a break. Their fascination was contagious.
Have fond memories of playing money football in 3rd form.
Many thanks to Gordon Foote for ending my cricket career with a yorker to my big toe with the only ball I ever faced at Wolmers. I might have gone on to play test cricket if I had survived that delivery.
Remember leading (must have been) an 800m race (Harrison House) only to finish dead last. Still remember Andrew DaSilva laughing at me. Had no idea about fitness then. Had the talent though.
Remember attending Manning Cup/Walker Cup matches at the national stadium and singing those creative cheer songs. Also enjoyed colts football & sunlight cup/colts cricket matches on the Wolmers playfield.
