School Story:
I appreciate being involved in this reunion even though I defected to Dighton for my junior and senior years of HS. That was one of the more difficult times in my life; I hated to leave Kinsley and all my friends behind. I missed out on what should have been two great years at KHS and, to this day, still remain somewhat bitter about being pulled away. I especially hated to leave since we were going to be really good in football my junior year. We were undefeated in JV football my soph. year ('87) and were only scored on twice (yeah, my bad on that one vs. Fairfield) and I was so excited about the upcoming year. Unfortunately, Dad found a better job in Dighton and we had to move.
I have so many great memories growing up it's hard to choose one. Here's just a few that come to mind---- "The Game", egging houses on Halloween, pre-game meals in Offerle, post-practice time at Hamm & Pool's, Band with Mr. Rahtjen, that little white stuff in the corner of Mr. ??? 's mouth(French teacher who slept at school), the Music Man, Annie, our elementary school gang (Van, Darrin, Scott, and I), playing "touch" football at recess, MRS. HUSLIG!!!!!, social studies with Mr. Stuart, Mid-winter classic BB tourney at St. John, summers at the pool listening to Journey, Chicago, and that weird song "blinded by the light, wrapped up like a _______" while eating my 5th Fun Dip, pick-up basketball in the summer at the park, wondering what school was really like at St. Nicholas, "Footloose" and "Rocky" from the upper deck, driving in Dodge for the first time during driver's ed., our first beer party (6th grade at Joe's house), and spending an ungodly amount of time on a dirty yellow bus. In the immortal words of Styx, they were the "best of times".
