Any responses on carrying a gun on the article that I posted?

Do YOU carry a gun? If so....why?

If NOT, why?

Years ago after my house was broken into for the third time in less than one year, at the encouragement of some friends I went out, bought a gun. I took lessons on shooting and all the safey precautions etc.

At that point I had just myself and four daughters living with me. I sat them down, showed it to them, I talked about why I bought it and where it was going to be kept.

I explained that it was NOT to show friends or to get it and "play with it" under any circumstances.

I kept it for about 7 months and worried more about some sort of accident more than another intruder.

I was never bothered again............do you think that the word spread that I was a novice and I HAD A GUN????? LOL!
