Ellen used to drive me crazy during concert choir. She would sit next to me and talk and talk and talk, and every time I talked back to her to the choir director, Mr. Kelsey, would see me talking and give me a dirty look. She was a beautiful girl, but I'm pretty sure she was the reason I got an A-, instead of an A, in concert choir!

Ellen and I were friends for most of our lives and while I was sad to hear of her passing, in many ways it was a relief. There was more unhappiness in her life than there should have been, but one of the remarkable things about Ellen was her faith and optimism. Ellen was what we hope all Christians will be when they claim  to be one. She was generous, hopeful, courageous, kind, caring and she never, ever gave up. Ellen was alone in a nursing home when she died, no funeral or service was given, so this short tribute is for my sweet friend so she will know that she was loved and not forgotten! Love you Ellen

I remember Ellen from riding the school bus. I did not know her well, but she was the only Ellen I knew. She was a nice person. I named my oldest daughter Ellen because I like the name and knew it wasn' very common in 1987.

I first met Ellen in high school, and I always liked her. She was always very talkative, and always fun to be around. Later on after high school, I always tried to keep in touch with her. I knew from what what she had told me that she had a very hard life. I wanted to stay in touch with her because she wasnt really local anymore, but I always liked keeping in touch, and just talking about everything going on. When I recently heard from Rachel that she had passed away, and she was by herself, I felt so sad because I had no idea. If there would be ever an opportunity to have a memorial service for her, I am willing to speak, even though I was probably the quietest one in high school, but if we ever do that, let me know. She was special to me.
