In the immortal words of the Greatful Dead "What A Long, Strange Trip Its Been". After high school I worked alot of jobs in mostly shipping and receiving at several carpet mills. I finally settled in at Shaw Ind. for 16 years. In 2002, I was diagnosed with AML. I had 1 sibling, out of 3 match for a bone marrow/stem cell transplant. On February 11, 2003, I began my second life at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. My second life hasn't been as easy or as much fun as my first life, but I truely appreciate it more. I've beat the odds by surviving the AML and the Transplant, but there have been so many hurdles I've crossed and still have a ways to go. But I've been truely blessed by God and thank him for every day I get. I hope to be able to return to work one day, but right now I'm living one day at a time.
On March 9 1985, I married my wife, Donna. On January 18 1990 we had Corey our only child. Being Corey's father has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I helped coach rec. teams, Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader (Corey earned his Eagle Scout rank in 2007) and it has been a blast. Donna has been a great wife and mother, she has stayed by my side through the good times and bad (alot of bad) and I love her more today than ever.
