I married my high school sweetheart in 1982 when I graduated a year early. We were married 14 years and saw some of the United States together while he was in the Air Force. We had 2 beautiful children, Eric and Kelsey, who now attend Dalton State College. Eric thinks he wants to join the Air Force as an Officer; Kelsey hasn't completely decided what her major is going to become. I attended Macon College School of Nursing and graduated in 1994. I've spent most of my career in Long Term Care, Acute-Rehab except for the last 3 years which have centered around Psychiatric Nursing on the Forensics units where I work with those deemed Incompetent to Stand Trial or Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. It gets really rough sometimes with the patients/inmates fighting but, knock on wood, I haven't been hit so far. Since high school I've learned to appreciate the little things in life. Give me a beautiful sunset in the middle of a nice lake, some crickets chirping and a decent size bass on the end of my rod with a nice cool breeze blowing and I'll be happy just as long as I have a clean cloth to hold the fish with to take off the hook and release. Yeah, I'm still a girly girl even when fishing. Otherwise I love the mountains and discovering new places off the beaten path to find treasures. Unfortunately my life has become one of those-if only I could go back and do things differently- but even though it hasn't turned out as I had hoped; I've met some great people along the way and learned that no matter how many possessions you may have in life; none are quite so precious as looking across the room at the person you love or watching your kids perform amazing feats on the bandfield while you melt from the heat in the stands loving every minute of it. So, my life hasn't been that sweet bowl of cherries but I've become pretty good at finding my way around to the other side of the pit and still managing a smile for someone less fortunate than I.
