KCOBANA GALA Event

The King's College Old Boys' Association (KCOBANA), would like to request your company to our Annual North America event. KCOBANA strives to provide a platform for engagement between members of the association and strategic stakeholders in various professional endeavors in North America (USA & Canada). While at the same time creating opportunities for interactions with distinguished guests and providing inspiring discourse in matters of our global community.  

This year’s Gala event scheduled for July 8th, 2023, at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture, is themed - ‘Our History, Culture, and Global Reach’. As our guest speaker, we are confident that your presence as one of the most outstanding and accomplished African American Executives in North America, will generate the most exciting, informative, and inspiring moments at such a historic venue

Our events have always been graced by renowned personalities and international achievers at these occasions. Past guests include The Director-General of the World Trade Organization - Dr. Okonjo Iweala, Emir of Kano and Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria - HRH Lamido Sanusi, The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations - Mrs. Amina J. Mohammed, Chairman and managing partner of Global infrastructures limited, Dr. Bayo Ogunlesi, amongst others.

July 30th 2018 - Set of 88 visits the Emir of Kano -   Olu Akpata had been in communication with our esteemed fellow King’s College old boy, His Royal Highness, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the Emir of Kano. The Emir had previously indicated to Olu that he would attend our Dinner and Gala night if his schedule permitted (which it did not).  In lieu of attending our event, he had extended to our class, an invitation to pay him a courtesy visit at his palace in Kano.
