Geoffrey Hammond (1962-64) VIEW PROFILE

The following Chicago Tribune obit was published the weekend of May 12-14, 2017:

Geoffrey H. Hammond, MD, age 68, resident of Walnut Creek and Danville, CA, formerly of Lake Forest, IL, Cary, IL, and Larned, KS, passed away on 9 April 2017, after a seven-year battle with cancer. Raised in Lake Forest, IL, he went to schools in Lake Forest and Cary, Illinois. His BA was from Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL, and he completed medical school at the University of Illinois, Chicago. After primary care practice for several years, Geoff went to Yale Medical School's Department of Psychiatry where he finished his training as a Psychiatrist. Pre-deceased by birth parents, William Hammond (Tucson, AZ) and Bette Hobbs List (Bozman, MD), and by "mentor" parents Ace and Chris Hardy (Lake Forest, IL) who helped form so much of his life-long interests in music, architecture, medicine and nature; Geoff also leaves daughters Kerry and Kathryn, and wife Piensilp. He will be missed by siblings Tom (Janice), Jim (Jeri), Bill, Bob (Barbara) and Leslie Hardy, who was like a sister to him. He is missed also by cousins, and the extended family he created in so many parts of the country.
