I've enjoyed a career as a graphic designer having started my own business in 1991. I started semi-retirement in 2024, but still enjoy working on one contract at a time. My career included print design, design and programming for digital products, branding, and editorial services.

I've had the opportunity to travel with friends to every continent and many countries. I have many friends in the UK and go to London frequently. I've raised four canine babies and buried them all. I enjoy living in Evanston in a single family home with a garden. I love to eat the vegetables out of my backyard. I am a vegetarian, an out and proud gay man, and an avid meditation practitioner.

I participate as a meditation leader in at least two retreats a year. I'm an avid bicycler, lap swimmer, book reader, theatre patron, and art lover. As a member of EvanstonMade, I participate in Evanston-based art shows along with other amateur and professional artists. I started writing a journal as a freshman at LFHS and it has remained a lifelong habit. I enjoy writing poetry and political essays.

School Story

I have a great deal of gratitude for my high school English teachers — Miss Clark, Brenda Perkins, and Mr. Criche. All of them recognized and encouraged my talents and sensitivities. I must have been the most reluctant inductee to Cum Laude because I did not like public recognition. My parents insisted I represent! Thanks to my German teacher Mr. Kositsky, I was a persistently dedicated soccer player, though not confident enough to gain much traction on the field. I graduated with the class of '74 because I had completed all my credits by the end of junior year and my counselor encouraged me to start college early. I took a gap year!

I managed to stay in the marching band for 3 years because George Stone and I laughed our way through most of the practices. I sold my trumpet after college!

I successfully persuaded my girlfriend Gini Chung to remove all photos of me from the yearbooks because she was on the yearbook staff. To this day, there is no proof I ever attended LFHS in the yearbooks!
