Our History
Harrison Arts Center, which opened in August 1989 with an enrollment of 154, draws its student population from communities throughout Polk County. The enrollment for school year 2006-2007 was 387 students. The total scholarship amount awarded to the sixty-five seniors in the Class of 2007 was $4,436,905.00.
Harrison graduates are prepared to enter college programs in the arts, may pursue a professional career in the performing or visual arts, or may undertake an academic field of study at the college or university level. The strong arts foundation received as students at Harrison enable them to display and exercise a wide variety of skills and techniques, including time management, goal setting, and self-discipline, as they pursue their goals of various careers in the arts and higher education
