Huh? My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi...

Ok, enough of the movie quotes. That was Steve Martin's line... I never lived on the Mississippi!

After LHS, I attended various Universities and Colleges within the South: Polk Community... Sante Fe... University of Florida where I marched in the Gator Band playing tuba (keep those tuba fatguy-oompah-FigNewton jokes to yourself, thank you very much! ) and pledged Sigma Nu fraternity (Animal House II)... Florida Atlantic... Georgia State... and Kennesaw State... just to name a few. Smart? Highly educated? High achiever? Seeking a higher power? Nah - ADHD.

Married in 1985... lived in Ft Lauderdale for a few years.. worked as a Stock Broker at EF Hutton... then as a Loan Officer at Barnett Bank. Moved to Atlanta in 1987... was blessed with three WONDERFUL children... started working as an IT-geek in 1988 in various computer programming-type jobs before getting hooked up with Peoplesoft in 1996... went into business for myself in 1999 as an independent Peoplesoft Consultant... moved to Boston in 2006 for a position at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical) managing the Peoplesoft applications team... divorced shortly thereafter... married in April of this year to the most wonderful woman in the world (Diana - not to be cliche, but she really does complete me!). Which brings us to... today.

There you have it. Sark in a nutshell.

Forrest Gump was right: Life IS like a box of chocolates! You never know what you're going to get.

One of my favorites was when Band Director Bill Miller went postal on Alan Pickart because Alan wouldn't move his chair... or something of sorts. Miller started foaming at the mouth screaming to the top of his lungs, flailing his arms like a crazed Orangutan, when he lunged at and subsequently "killed" Alan. Chairs were knocked over, music stands were tumped! While 100+ saucer-sized eyes stared in utter amazement, Alan maintained his composure, as calm as Jeff Spicoli and most likely thinking to himself: "Hey bud, what's your problem?".

Although there were many witnesses, the "crime scene" is still under investigation. To this day, some say that when the humidity is high, you can still see the chalk-outline of Alan's body on the floor of the bandroom. Creepy.
