We have finalized the details for the 35 year reunion so please check your emails for the letter and flyer with the information.  Please register here on the website for both the Friday night "Ice Breaker" gathering at 6pm on July 31st at the Sumner House in Charlestown, NH (formerly the Heritage) and the BBQ on Kingsbury Mountain in Walpole, NH on Saturday, August 1st 2pm-11pm at $30 per person.  Please note that this cost includes the banquet room and entertainment Friday night as well as the catered BBQ and entertainment on Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening.

Dear Class of 1980 Member:

Can you believe it has already been 5 years since our last class reunion?  Sometimes it seems like only yesterday that we were in our caps and gowns to receive our high school diplomas.  And sometimes it seems like a lifetime, which I suppose it has been.  After all, we're in our 50's you know!!!  No matter where you are in your journey in life, I think you will once again experience the common thread that unites us and reminds us that we are and will always be the Fall Mountain Regional High Schools Class of 1980.

Our 35 Year Class Reunion is fast approaching and will be held the weekend of July 31 & August 1, 2015.  Please mark your calendars and start making plans to attend.  We’re working really hard to make this a fun and relaxing reunion and we’d like to see as many classmates as possible! Many classmates have already committed to coming and we hope you can too. It would mean a great deal to all of us if we can get everyone together one more time!

We are planning the weekend as a “keep it casual” event.  To kick it off we have arranged for an informal get together on Friday evening July 31st, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Sumner House located at 112 Main Street, Charlestown, NH. (formerly the Heritage Restaurant owned by Carol St. Pierre)

Saturday, August 1, 2015, the festivities will be held on Kingsbury Mountain which is located at 125 Kingsbury Road in Walpole, NH. (Directions: from Route 12 at Blinkng light onto South Street, up Prospect Hill, past Hooper Golf Course, onto Watkins Hill Rd, turn right onto Kingsbury Rd.) We will have wonderful food and lots of time for reminiscing, getting reacquainted, and dancing. Please see the attached flier for details.  If it is a clear evening we should be able to see the fireworks in Bellows Falls, VT that night so bring your lawn chairs.  We have permission to camp on the mountain on Saturday night so you can bring your gear if you'd like.  Or we have reserved  a block of 10 rooms at the Courtyard Marriott  hotel in Keene, NH for $155.00 per night.

Costs:  Friday night is on your own – there is no advance cost as there will be a cash bar and server for everyone to buy their own beverages, appetizers, etc.  Saturday night the BBQ / Dance will be $30.00 per person. You may print out the attached flier and fill out your registration form at the bottom and send in your payment.  Please make all checks payable to:  “FMRHS Class of 1980” and return with your form – as soon as possible, with a deadline of June 1^st.

We plan to have a presentation featuring classmates and/or their families for everyone’s viewing pleasure.  If you would like to send pictures via email – please send them to fmrhs1980@gmail.com.  If you prefer snail mail please send them along to the address at the bottom of the flier.  (Please include a self addressed stamped envelope if you want the pictures returned to you.) If you are unable to attend but would like a copy of everyone's contact information, please send us an email and we'll send you the class list.

While we’re still planning we’d like to know of any activities you would like us to try to arrange.  Some ideas being tossed around are:  a golf outing on Sunday, family picnic and swimming at Surry Mountain Dam on Sunday, a day at the Cheshire Fair.  Let us know if these interest you or your family at all - or maybe what YOU might like to see happen if these don’t appeal to you.  PLEASE, for planning purposes return by May 1^st. 

Our email is listed below so feel free to contact us with any questions or ideas.  We look forward to seeing you this summer. Let’s make this the most well attended reunion yet! Even if you’re recently divorced, have a bit less hair, lost your job or wear a few extra pounds, you are still who you are, only better. At a reunion, everyone shows up older, and then grows young again. Rarely in life do you get to look back through a new lens. Please come home it is good for the soul! It would really be nice to see everyone again after such a long journey....

P.S. If you are not coming to the reunion, you need a good excuse and a note from your Mom. The following reasons have been tried and are unacceptable.

Excuse #1: I'm overweight.
Rebuttal: You're not alone. No one cares if you still fit into your cheerleader uniform.  In fact no one remembers if you were a cheerleader.

Excuse #2: I'm a different person than I was in high school
Rebuttal: Lucky for you, we ALL are. Let's face it: we could only have improved.

Excuse #3 I don't look as good as I'd like. I (choose one or more) am bald, have wrinkles, saddlebags, grey hair and no one will recognize me.
Rebuttal: Guess what! You won't recognize anyone else, either. Using the reunion committee as a representative sample, our whole class looks like a "before" photo in a plastic surgery ad.

Excuse #4: I'm not successful. I'm not (choose one or more) a lawyer, a doctor or rich.
Rebuttal: You'll be pleasantly surprised to find how much everyone has matured. We may be plump and wrinkled (see Excuse #3, above) but we're not stupid. Money is not success.

Excuse #5: I was not in a popular clique in school
Rebuttal: Now that we're old and smart, those cliques have dissolved just like the superficialities they were based on. The only cliques you'll notice at the reunion will be the sound of your joints as you walk around.
