After graduation, I worked at South Holland Trust and Savings bank as a Teller I got married September 25 1981 to Norm Dykstra.
Norm owns Smith Plasterering with his brother, and has been a plasterer for 30 years. We have 3 children. Timothy Andrew was born December12, l983, Amy Beth was born June 29, l985 and Lisa Joy was born October 27, l988. All three of our kids went to Illiana Christian, and Tim and Amy went to Trinity Christian College. Tim received a bachelors degree in Psychology, but is working with Norm right now. Amy received a bachelor degree in Elementary Education and is a Nanny for two families and is working at Sylvan learning center. She was married September 12 2008 to Josh Stebnitz who she met while attending Trinity. He was from Delavan Wisconsin. They are living in Highland. Lisa went to Kaplan College and received a degree in Massage Therapy. She is working at Verizon right now and doing massage therapy on the side.
I am a stay at home Mom and very thankful that I was able to be at home with the kids while they were growing up.
We built a home in Lansing in l983 and lived there until 1999, and then built the home we are at in Dyer IN.
We attend First Reformed Church in Lansing.
I have very good memories of my time at Illiana and Thankful that I was able to attend a Christian School. I also appreciate who ever was responsible for getting this site up and running, it sure is fun to see what everybody is doing.
