After leaving Illiana at the end of my sophomore year, I attended Highland High School until January 1978. Upon graduation and early release in January I moved to Gainesville, FL where I worked in the hotel and restuarant industries until 1983. I went to Cosmetology school, obtained my license and have been a hair dresser ever since. I have owned my own dayspa and sold it when I became a youth minister. I felt a Higher calling. I was blessed with a youth ministry program for over three years. Unfortunately my wife and I were continuing to have problems with our marriage and after 18 years decided to separate and divorce. I left youth ministry because the congregation seemed more interested in our personal matters than the youth and I felt it wasn't fair to the youth.
I am healthy and happy and back in hairdressing, living less than a five minute walk to the beach in one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been, St Augustine, Florida.
Actually if it hadn't been for my youth group kids begging me to join Facebook to stay connected with them on a daily basis, Judy (who is also part of Facebook) would have never found me and started up a conversation that I have been looking for for 30 years. I regret not being able to finish my high school years at Illiana. Monies were not available for me to continue at Illiana. But, the truth be told, Illiana are some of the best memories that I have of my teenage years. You were a great family for me.
