Age 68, passed away September 27, 2007. He was born in Lansing August 5, 1939 and was a 1957 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School. He was a milkman with McDonald Dairy; a loan officer for the Bank of Lansing; was involved in real estate and mortgages; and prior to his retirement, operated Earley Birds Home Inspection. Jack enjoyed playing basketball with his grandchildren, swimming, water skiing, and shuffleboard. He loved music and singing, and all animals, especially cats. He was Vice Pres. of the Social Committee at the Serendipity Park where they wintered in Florida. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Lorraine (Davenport); 2 daughters, Kathy (Rod) Sanville of Haslett, Jennifer (Alex) Smith of San Diego; son, Darryl (Rhonda) Earley of Eaton Rapids; 8 grandchildren, Lindsey, Olivia, Ryan, Tyler, Morgan, Trevor, Meghan, and Sophie; sister, Janet (Hal) James of Sunfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marvel Earley and parents-in-law, Irving and Marguerite Davenport. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2007 at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 549 E. Mt. Hope, Lansing with the Rev. James R. Lichtenberger officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia Lymphoma Society or to the Capital Area Humane Society.
