Stewart E. Helmer, 69, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland died Sept. 19, 2009, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton. He was born Nov. 10, 1939, in Lansing, Mich. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Upper Marlboro. He was fond of his dog, Maddy. He was a photographer with the federal government. He loved spending time with his family. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lewis Helmer; son, Michael and his wife, Becky Helmer; daughters, Denise and her husband, Mike Fahringer, Stacey and her husband, Dan Wood, Melissa and her husband, Tyson Johnson and Michelle Helmer; sisters, Evelyn Helmer and Barbara Summers; grandchildren, Katelyn, Ryan, Danielle and Jordan; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on September 25, 2009 in Upper Marlboro, MD, at Fellowship Baptist Church.
