James E. "Jim" Anderson
James (Jim) E. Anderson, aged 66, ended his fight with cancer at his home with his family by his side Friday night, March 3, 2006. Jim was born March 24, 1939, in Chicago, IL. His family moved to Lansing, MI where he graduated from Eastern High School excelling in sports. In the 60's he was in the band, "The Crestwoods", he continued his passion of singing throughout his life. Jim spent most of his career in sales with his longest years of service at Highland Appliance. He enjoyed golfing, barbecuing and spending time with friends and family. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and willingness to help others. Jim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Julia (Bleibtrey); his children, Michelle and her husband Dennis, of Ocala, FL, Kim Ruble and her husband Dan of, Chesapeake, VA, Annette Powell of Portage, MI, Jennifer Dutch and husband Paul of Oshkosh, WI, Brian and his wife Anne of Aurora, IL; ten grandchildren, Austin, Jaime, Aaron, Danielle, Kelsey, Doug, Christy, Dustin, Joshua, Laurel; one great-grandson, Julian; and three brothers, Jerry of Ypsilanti, MI, Steve of Saginaw, MI, Schuyler of Vine Grove, KY. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. His parents, William and Wynne (Kuhn), preceded him in death. Visitation services will be held on Monday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8 p.m. at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave., Kentwood MI 49508.
