Mrs. Betty J Carrillo, 69 years, passed away late Friday evening, January 2, 2009, in her Sumner Street home.

Betty was born to Della and George St. Clair in Lansing, MI. For almost 20 years in the 1950s and 60s she trained horses in the Lansing area with her mentor, Eloreen Barnes. Betty received her associate’s degree from the University of Toledo and retired in 2003 from NODC where she had worked 19 years. She was a member of and the 1st woman elected president of Latins United as well as being vice-president of the S.A.O. club and a member of the Country Music Association in the 1960s.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Carlos, and children, Mike (Vickie) Johnson, Brian (Shannon) Johnson and Kathleen Johnson and grandchildren, Ann Marie and Zita, Ashley, Nicholas, Aaron and Kagen and great- grandchildren, Dryden, Austin, Logan and Laura; 7 step children and many grand and great-grandchildren also survive.

She will be missed by her close cousin, Jim (Jackie) Wheeler and her beloved Cockapoodle, Cinnamon Sugar. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Connie Gibson Carrillo who died in 1985.

The family thanks the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Monday from 2-8 p.m. where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 9:15 a.m., in the mortuary, followed by a Funeral Mass at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorials may take the form of a contribution to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
