Larry Johnson
Larry Allen Johnson, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away November 16, 1998, at the age of 59.
Born in Lansing, Michigan on July 10, 1939, the son of Wesley and Fleda Spalding Johnson. Larry served in the United States Navy. He was a prominent professional musician in and around Houston and Galveston.
His passions were his family, friends, and bluegrass music. He is survived by his wife, Sally Johnson of Friendswood, Texas; two daughters, Catherine Shutts and husband, George, of Houston, Texas, and Lisa May and husband, Rob, of League City, Texas; his son, Daniel Johnson of Dickinson, Texas; his sister-in-law, Roberta Lear and husband, William, of Portland, Michigan; his 5 grandchildren, Aaron Shutts, Stephanie Shutts, Matthew Shutts, Tyler Jon-Allen Shutts and Jennifer May; and his nephew William Lear II and wife, Angela, of Portland, Michigan.
A Memorial Service in honor of Larry Johnson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 1998 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home in Friendswood, Texas. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service."
