I knew of Clemente when I was at Heights Elementary as well as M.B. Lamar Jr. High School and J. W. Nixon High School.  I am not sure why he and I were good friends as we were quite different in how we saw life.  He was a person of "few words" while I was a person who really did not know the meaning of a "few words".  I remember he seems to always like wearing Levi's 501 jeans (button fly - of course) and these leather motorcycle-type boots - I mean I knew the guy all those years and that is how he 'always' dressed - no deviations, man.  He was a very cool dude who talked little and moved with such grace - as he was never in any hurry, that was his style.  He gave me good advice on who stay away from in school as he tended to run with the dudes who most wanted to avoid, else you were asking for trouble.  I am very sorry Clemente passed away before I had the chance to meet him again and remind I very much I appreciated him being my friend and Clemente was the type of person who picked his friends and not the other way around.  He had a super cool smile and to me will be someone I will never forget. I for sure will remain his friend and will always see him as the "super cool dude" before there were "super cool dudes".  Sincerely - James G. Herrera
