School Story:
Our senior year half the wrestling team headed by Jimmy Nevarez/Joey went to Mayfield High School and painted the big rock monument (Wasn't aware it was a monument at the time!) blue/white/red which had to be sand blasted in order to remove the paint!! We also use white shoe polish and wrote, "Cruces Rules Mayfield Sucks etc..." on all the windows especially the cafeteria. Mayfield High students had burned a big "M" on our grass in the front office (Homecoming Game) so, we returned the favor but, paid the penalty!! Half the varsity team couldn't wrestle the first tournament but, a few of us still went and got caught after our names were on the newspaper for taking place at the tournment. Some of us took a suspension and some had to wash the graffitti off the walls at school. We where the wildest bunch of wrestlers, according to Coach Harrison (Angry) whose been there for a very long time (He was my dad's wrestling coach!) but, we took 2nd place and miss first by a point at the state tournment. Mr. Noe was pretty cool and erased that incident from our records (actually if you recall he said he would erase every students record during a school gathering.)
