After eight years on The Edge in Albuquerque, Clear Channel bounced my bald azz like a rubber ball. So, I headed to Columbus, OH (which is where Mom and Dad moved after Dad retired from NMSU). Then went into outside sales for a large recruiting firm.

Just about that time, Dad moved to New Jersey, where he taught physics at Rutgers before retiring last year. He lives with his girlfriend and is very happy, which is great.

The hardest thing I've ever had to do was say goodbye to Mom, who died two years ago in January, a victim of cancer. She died with the grace with which she lived life, and I miss her very much. Even now, I tear as I'm typing. Hold your family tightly while you can...believe me, nothing is ever the same after they're gone.

On to happier things...

I met my wife, Kara, in a bar. Sadly, the night was a bit blurry, for I showed up bombed, and of course left in worse condition. I remember a stunning blonde, whom I apparently gave my phone number to...five times...on five different bar napkins. Suave, I know. Anyway, because she is crazy, she decided to call me a week later. I spent those six days distraught by the idea that I had met someone I had fallen instantly in love with and had no idea what her name was or where she was from. When she called, I promptly freaked the out.

Kara was finishing vet school, and after graduation, she was headed home to Kentucky (doesn't make sense for an equine vet to like anywhere else). Four years after we first met, I moved here after her internship at a local clinic and asked her to marry me. We just celebrated our second wedding anniversary.

I sell tactical weapons to cops these days, and do lots of training with the Department of Criminal Justice Services in Virginia (I'm back and forth LOTS). I'm a Personal Protective Specialist, but really, I'm a sales guy. It is a fun career, but after I win the lottery, I'll probably leave it behind for the beach.
