Well, as some of you know, I went into the service a couple of months after graduation. 2 years 3rd Infantry Div. and 7 years 82nd Airborne Div. The military is one of the best things that ever happended to me. I got to visit alot of places I never even thought of going to, spending New Years eve '93 going into '94 in Paris,France & visited a few other places in France on different occasions when the French were still OK.(Just Kidding) I have traveled all over E. and W. Germany, alot of awesome history. But I have to say that one of the hardest things that happened to me in the service was being medically discharged.
I then moved to Kempner Tx.,
in 1999 where I worked for a defense contractor field testing new M1 tanks and M2 Bradly. 2002 I moved to the greater metropolitan area of Belen, where I work on commercial Fire alarm systems, cctv, & access control. I also Officiate High School Softball, Collegiate softball, ASA, USSSA, and High school football.
I am engaged to a beautiful woman from, get this, Las Vegas, NM area. I didnt know anything existed north of Albuquerque, south of Raton. Who knew? She is a Kindergarten teacher in Albuquerque at a Dual Language school.
Let me tell you something, I would rather still be in the trenches, than be stuck with 17 Kindergarteners, she's a tough cat.
A Soldier's life is the one we chose to guarantee the freedom so many take for granted. God Bless the Soldier's and their families, and may you come home soon.
