Wow almost 20 years..... shit that's alot of time to cover. Long story short... After graduation I had my daughter Brandi then 2 years later my son. Stayed and struggled for about 6 years or so. Wanted something better for my kids and myself so I took a leap of faith and moved to Atlanta Georgia in 1996. It was the best thing I could have ever done for all of us. I lived, loved and laughed for most of the ten years that I was there. I feel like I really grew up there and discovered myself... my desires and expectations, basically what I could make of my life not what life was going to make of me!
Last year I tried to move up to San Diego to be closer to my son.... it only lasted a few months. Just too expensive... so I moved back to good ol' Cruces to get back on my feet and figure out a new game plan!
Planned on moving back up to Georgia where my heart is! Two weeks before I was about to pack it up and head back South I reconnected with a high school crush... Roger Avalos.
(Guess God had a bigger and better plan for me)
He's 2 years ahead of us. We crushed on eachother when I was a sophmore and he was a senior but my father didn't allow us to date beacuse of the age difference. We both went our seperate ways... but we always remained good friends and kept in touch. Timing was just never on our side except for this 1 time!!! I guess that's all it really takes right? And a little help from the big guy upstairs!!!
We were married on December 29, 2007. We've managed to purchase a home, do some traveling and not kill one another yet in the short time we've been together!!!
It's amazing to me how things come in full circle.
