Greetings:
This letter is on behalf of the West Las Vegas and Robertson High Schools’ 20 year class reunion committee. The 1988 graduates from both High Schools in our community are planning a 20 year reunion event. Instead of the traditional 20 year reunion summer activities, we are planning a joint reunion which will benefit both high schools.
In 1988, as you may recall, both schools participated in an extraordinary event. This event was called, “Unity across the Bridge”. Students from both high schools joined hands across the Gallinas River on National Avenue. The intended statement was a united “community” rather than “east or west”.
The 20 year alumni from both schools are trying to implement the “united” theme for our reunion event. We plan to have activities in November for the East/West football game. Our main focus for the reunion event is to present two $1,000 scholarships to our schools. A WLV senior will receive $1,000 and a RHS senior will receive $1,000. Our long term goal is for future 20 year class reunion alumni to continue the scholarship tradition. We feel this is a great way to serve our community as proud alumni of our schools.
