60TH REUNION-SIERRA GOLD
Our Class of 1956 60 year reunion was held the weekend of September 23-25, 2016. We had a total of 77 classmates and guests. Friday evening 75 classmates and guests met at Sierra Gold Tavern where we had a wonderful private room, music from the 50s provided by Jerry Speer, great appetizers and refreshments, and plenty of time to visit and catch up with everyone. Saturday morning 40 of our classmates followed tradition and met at the steps of our "old" LVHS (now the Las Vegas Academy). The LVHS Alumni Association donated a display cabinet to the Academy for LVHS memorabilia from 1930 through 1993. Several of our classmates donated items from our years at LVHS and a dedication ceremony was held prior to taking a tour of the buildings and then having our group photo taken on the front steps. Saturday evening our class had their own tables at the annual Wildcat Reunion, and Sunday morning we had a delicious brunch at the home of Rollie and Noami Gibbs (class of 1954) before saying our goodbyes.
