Joyce Evans Shugart died 04/17/17 in Las Vegas at the age of 79.  She was born in Marion, Iowa to Louis and Louise Evans.  Joyce attended Las Vegas High School, where she met and married Jim Shugart.  They both graduated in the LVHS class of 1956.  They had three children that they loved and raised in Las Vegas.  Joyce went back to school in her late 30’s and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing.  She worked for over 20 years in the ICU Unit in Sunrise Hospital.  She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Janice and son Phillip.  She is survived by her children, Marie Shugart and Stephen (Tina Gitcoff) Shugart, sisters Jean Shehan, Elaine Long and Jeri Flynn, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Condolences may be sent to her family at 1656 N.
