David Fulcher

David Fulcher died in Willows, CA on August 18, 2016.  He grew up in Texas, New Mexico, Idaho, Oregon and Washington, with his family settling in Las Vegas during his high school years.  He went into the Navy soon after graduating from LVHS and enjoyed his travels of the world.  He crossed the equator on April 10, 1958 on his way to Auckland, New Zealand.  

After the Navy he went on to apprentice school to become a carpenter, working in Las Vegas and Carson City. While visiting his parents in Willows, CA in 1963, he met Lela Elliott and they married on May 29, 1964.  He continued his work as a carpenter, working on area projects, the largest being the Oroville Dam and I-5.  After an injury, he was forced to leave the carpenter trade.

He started working for the maintenance department with the Wilows United School District in 1969.  He retired from there in 1998.  Later in life he developed a love for sailing around the San Juan Islands and Lake Oroville.  He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

David and Lela were married for 52 years.  They had one son and one daughter, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Condolences may be sent to his family at 303 N. Shasta, Willows, CA 95988.
