William J. Hutchison

William J. Hutchison

Bill Hutchison passed away on November 7, 2017 in Florida.  There will not be an obituary until early next year, as services will not be held until sometime in February in Florida.  Condolences may be sent to JoAnn Hutchison at 4733 S. Cranberry Blvd., North Port FL 34286.  JoAnn sent the following information about Bill.

He moved to North Port, Florida in 2006 and truly loved it here.  He also loved teaching ballroom dancing with JoAnn at the Senior Center (for 11 years), traveling and cruising, going to new places and meeting new people, cooking (he loved to have home parties just to share his cooking skills), and deep sea fishing (caught two Marlins and a Sailfish).  Things he loved even more include his family and friends.  He tried to make everyone feel important and only gave advice when asked.

In 1966 Bill owned a cabinetry business in Alaska.  He was a building contractor and built bridges and shopping Centers in North Carolina in 1982.  He was a member of the Local Carpenters Union #1780 for more than 50 years, and was a master carpenter at the Flamingo Hilton in Las Vegas in 1989.  Bill was the Financial Secretary for the Carpenters Union #1780 in 1994, Business Agent for Carpenters Health & Welfare in 1997, and was an agent for International Carpenters Union in 2000.  He was Worthy President Eagles Aerie #1213 in 2000, Worthy Eagles Nevada State President in 2005 and recipient of Eagles Dog Chain Award in 2005.

Bill and JoAnn were married for 30 years.  They had a beach wedding in Hawaii in 1988.

Bill & I managed baseball at LVHS.  It appears he had an illustrious career.  He was a good person & will be sorely missed.
