Ian Ross, born Ross Ian Rosenbaum, was born in Detroit, Michigan.  He passed away on 03/09/21 from pancreatic cancer.  He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Irmalee Gray Ross (also LVHS class of 1956).  They had two sons and three grandchildren.  After graduating from LVHS, Ian went to Nevada Southern 1957-58 (freshman and sophomore class president), University of Nevada Reno 1960 (founding chief judge student court) and Stanford Law School in 1963.  He was a law clerk at the Nevada Supreme Court in 1964, Clak County Deputy District Attorney 1966-67, Las Vegas Assistant City Attorney 1970-74, member of the Neada State Legislature 1977-78, president of the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce 1984-85.  Ross was board counsel for the Clark County Health District 1988-2000.  He was active in several civic organizations and received the Achievement in Service award in 2013 from the UNLV Alumni Association.  Ross appreciated all the people who helped him throughout his professional and business endeavors.  Upon retirement in 2000, Ross enjoyed traveling, bridge, reading and spending time with his family and friends.  His family will miss his love and companionship, his problem-solving skills, and sharing his love of history when they traveled together.  He was a source for government affairs and was an expert in vintage movies.  He impressed his bridge friends with his card skills.  Due to COVID there will be no gatherings at this time.  Donations in his name may be sent to Community College of Southern Nevada, CSN - scholarships or student emergency fund:  csnfoundation.org or by check: College of Southern Nevada, 6375 W.
