Bernie Roybal passed away August 21, 2017.  Here is the obit from the Las Vegas Review Journal.  Note that services will be held on Friday, August 25, at 9 a.m. at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue.

BERNIE ROYBAL Bernardino "Bernie" Roybal, 80, passed into eternal life Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, in Las Vegas, from complications of Dementia. Bernie was born April 1, 1937, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Bernie traveled to Las Vegas with family at the early age of 15 years old. He attended Las Vegas High School. He married Grace N. Hodges Jan. 5, 1957. Bernie and Grace enjoyed 59 happy years and traveled extensively. Several trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, Europe and Australia, were taken with and without their children and grandchildren. In his teens, Bernie worked as busboy, waiter and bartender at many of the casinos up and down Las Vegas Blvd. (the Strip). He was the owner and operator of a very popular carpet cleaning company in the 60s called, "Ruff-n-Reddy Carpet Cleaning," one of the first companies of this type. Bernie was a very hard working man with the school district all the way into his 70s. He comes from a very large musical talented family that has performed all over the world and in many casino lounges all over Las Vegas. Bernie and his wife, Grace, were faithful members of Christ the King Catholic Community Church. Bernie was a very enthusiastic, fun and a lovable man. He will be missed by many friends and family. Bernie has touched so many people throughout his lifetime with his humorous and fun-loving ways. Bernie was preceded in death by his loving parents, Leo and Minnie Roybal; as well as two grandchildren, Crystal Roybal and Leo (Trae) Roybal. Bernie is survived by his four children, Christina Marie (Tom) Cole, Theresa Anne George, Bernie L. (Danette) Roybal Jr. and James Andrew Roybal. Bernie had 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Bernie is also survived by two brothers, Eloy Roybal and Edward Roybal; and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles in Las Vegas and New Mexico. Services will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
