Rex Austin

Rex died July 1, 2014.  Rex was a member of the Sir Roller Car Club and loved cruising Fremont St. and going to the Blue Onion Restaurant, where he later met his wife, of 54 years, Janet. After high school, Rex entered the construction industry and eventually became the general superintendent for M.J.DiBiase, working with them for 40 years. He raised three boys, Gaylen, Ron and Mike in his home on Sunrise Mountain. Rex retired from the Carpenters Union Local 1780 in 2000. After a short retirement, he worked as a consultant for Steve Wynn in Macau, China, later working for PCI and Martin & Harris until 2014. Rex enjoyed camping, hunting, going on cruises, dining out, working in his green house, helping Janet with arts and crafts and taking his annual trip to Blue Springs Ranch. Most of all, he loved his beloved dog Scotty, and his seven granddaughters.
