Kay (Kathleen Frances) Bollig Dykes was born in Omaha, Nebraska.  Her father was a pharmacist and her mother was a nurse.  The family moved to Las Vegas around 1942 and her father Frank Bollig opened a pharmacy. Kay married Charles "Sonny" Dykes in 1959.  They had three children, a daughter and two sons. Kay died May 10, 1970 of a brain hemorrhage in Santa Clara, CA.
