Jim Grigsby

Jim Albert Grigsby died on April 24, 1987.  He retired from the Las Vegas Fire Department in 1965 after being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 1964.  He originated the Firefighter's Boot Drive, which became a nationwide program.  He made several films for MDA and appeared on the Jerry Lewis Telethon the last three years before he died.  He was past President of the Firefighter's Benefit Fund.  He is buried at Palm Downtown in Las Vegas.

Hey: When you, Jim Simon and I went to Yosemite, my audience told me I could play the ukulele better then you!! (And, I didn't have a clue!!). The last time I saw you , you were coming out of "B" Tunnel at NTS!! Did not know you passed until I saw your picture at the Class 50th along side Jim & Rozena. RIP
