Ann Carlton Johnson passed away on November 18th, 2014, surrounded by her family. Ann was born in Dublin Texas, and moved with her parents, James Reid Carlton and Margaret Hayter Carlton, to Leesburg in 1953. Ann attended schools in Leesburg, was a cheerleader at Leesburg High School, and, a member of the LHS Class of 1970. Ann's greatest pride was being the best mother, sister, and Nannie to her grandchildren. Ann is survived by her husband of 30 years, Stephen W. Johnson; sons Michael Shawn Wood (wife, Jenna) and Christopher Carlton Johnson (fiance, Monia Hernandez); grandchildren Austin Wood, Beckam Wood, and Kennedy Ann Wood; brothers Andy Carlton and Mike Carlton; sisters Kathy Jankiewicz, Judy McRae, Debbie Schonauer, and Janelle Hurt; and, her best friend of 58 years, Meredith Kirste. Services will be Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church of Leesburg. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Fl, 32778.
