After marrying my high school sweetheart, Gary Perkins and graduating from college, we traveled the US and the world with the army. Before returning to the Lexington area, we had moved 17 times. When Gary died in '04, I began teaching full time, traveling and spending time with my grandchildren. I spent a summer in Jordan working in a Moabite archaeological site, where I uncovered a 500 year old skeleton. I've also traveled to Poland, Germany, and Czechoslovakia. I am the caregiver for Frances, my Down Syndrome sister, who lives with me. She is a blessing to our family.
