John T and I met on a blind date after Donna Shaw's wedding, set up by Nancy Jordan and Johnny Poppas.....9 months later, we were married. The first 30 years, John T worked for R.J.Reynolds Tobacco Co. and he traveled to Ga, NC, SC, KY. on the tobacco markets as a buyer. I worked in Lexington as a bookkeeper at tobacco warehouses. The last 20 years, John T started a business in an old tobacco warehouse called Salvage Building Materials, selling new kitchen cabinets, bath vanities and vanity tops, knobs and pulls....New Materials at Salvage Prices. I started a Bookkeeping business and did payrolls and financials for many small businesses in central Kentucky. We are both mostly retired, with the kids running Salvage. We love to travel.... and I love to play bridge and read and have adventures with Raegan. We will celebrate our 50th anniversary 12/21/2018.
School Story

I lived on Vista Drive in front of the school and was not very active at Lafayette. My big interest was in business, so I was very active in Junior Achievement. Since we stayed in Lexington and John T and I both graduated from Lafayette, we started attending the dinners at Lafayette with the LHS Alumni Association.
A couple years ago, I was elected Treasurer of LHS Alumni Assoc. and am now President. It was founded mostly by graduates of the 1940's and 1950's at the 50th Anniversary of Lafayette, but now has many graduates active from the 1960's and hosted the 75th Anniversary of Lafayette in April, 2015 with Tommy Hammond as MC and John Y. Brown, Jr. and Ernie Fletcher as key note speakers.

Happy Birthday Charlie!!! What a year it has been!!! Thankfully John and I got our first shot 3 weeks ago....hopefully the end of this crazy year is coming to an end. Linda has done a great job dealing with all of this and I know she is so strong because she has you behind her....in everything she does!!! Here's to a great year for you, your family, and our wonderful city!!! Maybe we will actually get to see people in 2021!!!
