Rebecca {Becky} was at the 50th class reunion in 2016 and I was paired with her as greeters at the Cambell House for the reunion. I enjoyed her company. I am sorry she is gone.  We talked about her son and grand children and compared notes about our lives since high school while we waited for classmates to sign in. I told Becky that in January of 1968 my step-father Leonard P. Henry with whom I was living with in Austin since both he and I were IBMers insisted that I take the Red Cross training class that was being offered by IBM to its emplyees. This course certified me as an EMT. Shortly thereafter I was elected by the rest of the emergency squad as squad captain and had kept up my training as an EMT through yearly training with the Austin Fire Department which IBM paid for. I also told her about my real father RET. Col. John Fleming Cotnam, M.D. USAF and that my father was a flight sergeon and had served in the United States Airforce all over the world and in the Viet Nam war { served as commadant of the airforce field hospital in Da Nang Vietnam} and retired as a full Colonel and had died in 1982. signed  John Beatty Cotnam, Austin Texas

I got to know Becca at our 50th Reunion meetings and she was a joy to work with as we planned and had our 50th Reunion at Palomar Club House and the Campbell House.  Then she came to our 50th Reunion at our Sock-Hop for the Classes of the '60's at The Round Barn at the Red Mile where we had another great turn-out.  The last we heard from her, she was not doing well, but checked in with all of us on Facebook to explain why we had not heard from her lately.  Then very quickly, she was gone.  Since we had such a large class at Lafayette, I did not really know her then, so feel fortunate that I got to work and get to know her the last couple years.  RIP Becca!!!  God has a new heavenly angel!!!
