Lee,

Even though roughly 30 years had passed before we made contact again, it was like we never parted. Our conversation started like we had been talking all along over those years.

I have way too many memories of you, Slade and myself to even begin to write them here. You have left just the S of the RST.

I called you the day after Christmas to see if you liked the gift I had sent, that is when your wife, Erika informed me of your passing. She did tell me that you had gotten the gift on the 17th and I hope you had opened it. She also mentioned that your children will treasure it as it was yours.

You led a wonderful life, traveling the world, and making your mark. I know that you touched many souls along your path and I’m sure all in a good way.

Really sorry that we cannot complete your journal of the “lost years” as you so appropriately named them. I with the better memory would have made a pretty good fact checker.

I have only one more thing to ask Lee, could you let me know how Heaven is?

Rest in Peace my friend,

Al

I am so very sad to hear this terrible news!  I had just written to Lee before the reunion, regarding his beautiful and heartfelt tribute to his friend Anthony.  My sincere sympathy and sorrow go out to his family.

  1. When I registered on the Lexington high school site in August (just prior to the reunion) I noticed that Lee also lived in Utah.  I called him and started the first of many incredible conversatios that we had catching up and all that he had achieved since the good old days.`He was such an accomplished, amazing man and will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.   With Blessings, Donna Hager Radwin

I'm surprised and so sorry to hear about Lee's sudden passing. I didn't know Lee, or anything about him until just before the 2012 class reunion. I was browsing through the people and noticed his name. I realized that I had no recollection of him at all, not even his name. So I got curious. Who is this guy? I checked his page. I was very impressed by his video resume - it was so well presented and produced. Still, it gave me no hint as to who he was during our High School years. So I dropped him a note.

Lee and I struck up a correspondence. He shared his life journey beginning with his "lost years" until today. I was amused and inspired by this troubled youth who had turned his life around so completely. Today he seemed to have become a successful entrepreneur and family man. Not only that, it seemed he was most generous in contributing to the world and that he had helped in so many ways.

It's funny how one can feel so close to someone you've never met. Lee's warmth, kindness and openness about his life was inspiring. His loss is a loss not only to his clearly awesome family, but to an entire community and world.

Lee, may your memory be a blessing to us all. May your family find peace.

Rahel (aka Ann Silverman-Limor)
