I have covered a lot of ground since 1988.
I went to cosmetology school in College Station. After graduating from there I have practiced that field of work ever since. I have really enjoyed that field of work. I'm sure most of you remember my mom had her own salon back when we were all growing up & how I would go help her after school a lot. Those were the day's...I'm so thankful I spent that time with her in the shop & for the fact that she was very active in my growing up years, she was always there for me. We lost mom in 1997, she was only fourty-five years old. That taught me a lot about how precious life & the people you love really are.
I have worked at many different salon's in many different places. I have also owned my own salon and to me it is a very exciting & rewarding occupation.
I got married for the first time in 1991 to Leonard Kemp on March 16th, we were married for 3 yrs. & had no children together.
After our divorce I moved back to Lexington from Baytown. I was so very glad to be home!!
In 1994 on July 16th I married my wonderful husband Randall Dean Bownds who also graduated from Lex. High in 1991. We got married at the gazebo on the square & have lived in Lexington our whole married life.
On November 14, 1994 I adopted my oldest son Spencer (he was only 2 1/2 at the time).
Randall & I had Cort in July 1995, he was a month early! In December 1998 we had Taylor "Laine" (who is named after my mom/Sandra Elaine Taylor Clopton).
We have now been married for almost 14 yrs. & just finished building our home about a month ago here in Lexington.
I work at the City Hall here in Lexington & cut hair two day's a week at a little shop here. Besides work & keeping up with the house I am constantly running with the boy's to all their sports & school event's.
Randall & I have worked very hard for what we have accomplished together & I am very proud of our life & our son's.
Some of the best years of my life were spent at Lexington Jr. High & High School.
I moved here with my family in the summer before my 6th grade school year.
I was very scared & didn't really know anyone in my class.
Moving from Houston to Lexington was a big adjustment at first, but my class members all made it very easy.
My very first friend was Nikki Mauldin, we grew up more like sister's & remain close to this day.
I have so many fond memories with everyone from my class & will carry them with me always.
High school was the best!! There were a lot of fun times with just about everyone, but especially all the fun I had with Jody, Alan Dale, & mom!
I love each and every class mate of mine very much, they are my family and I hope that we can all remain close & see each other often.
I was so pleased to see everyone at our reunion. It was such a peaceful & comforting feeling to spend time with the people I grew up with & cherish so much.
Jeffrey is right...just ask Shannon about all the other good stuff he remember's it all (on everybody else) funny how we didn't hear much about the pranks he pulled.
