When are we meeting on Thursday? Do we have a count on who all is going to join in the fun?

Ok, I still like the idea of the saloon. I will check to see if my Kevin can whip one up, if everyone wants. We as adults can put a few card tables on the trailer, sit by the tables, and as Teri said cover tables with red and white table cloths. Thoughts????

Becky Lundberg (King)

Like Dan said, what would be the theme then? If there are going to be women sitting at card tables with red-checkered tablecloths, I don't think it's going to seem like a saloon. I guess I'd rather not have a theme around drinking, but that's just my two-cents worth.

Here are a couple of other ideas-- small town watching a "could be lynching" of a thief who stole cookies????

or

a shoot out at a bank robbery

Barbara Coffman (Weeks)

Since Milo was originally a railroad town, it's wild wild west history would evolve around the trains and railroads, shouldn't the theme of our float reflect that? There is a book that was written about Milo's history, I don't have one, buy my mom does, it would have lots of ideas for a theme story. I am pretty sure there was a train robbery, or as Lori suggested, a lynching that would have been documented in that book. Anyone else have a copy they could look at and see?

Terri Walker (Ohnemus)

there's always the James gang we could be Jims gang or evenDans gang ans rob a train or we could dress up like old sheriffs and arrest people along the parade route and hold them hostiage and make them raise money for a charity

Lori Godlove (Goering)

We need a jail for that, wouldn't we? Or just tie them up and throw them on the float.

Wish we had a teacher and a noose. You know Joe and Peggy will be riding thier horses, they could be the posses.

Lori Godlove (Goering)

We could pretend to hang DANNY, and Edgar could be the preacher. And Terri you could be the sherriff. Then the rest of us could sit on benches watching the dilemma of the hanging. And there could be some people, shooting the pretend guns, trying to save Danny? Wouldn't be much for the prop. COuld have Danny out in the crowd and find him like you said. Kind of.

You guys better hurry up with your float idea - the 4th is on Saturday - hehehe.

I couldn't help myself - wanted to comment on the checkered tablecloths for the saloon - I could be wrong about this, but I don't think they had such a thing back in those days - lace tablecloths would be more appropriate (?). Otherwise, I think the saloon thing would be cute but I won't be there so I don't have to lose any sleep over ideas for the float (don't you just want to slap me, Lori?).

We are going to Greeley to watch their big Greeley Independence Day Stampede Parade.

Whatever you do for the float - have fun!!!! Happy 4th of July.

P.S. Better yet, NO tablecloths - don't know what saloon I was at in my former life, but it must have been a fancy one. lol

Oh Christi, aren't you funny sitting out in Colorado? I like the saloon idea too. Lace? Maybe. I am going to put a survey on. See what happens. I liked your video.

Terri Walker (Ohnemus)

true we would need a jail and I don't want to be the sheriff someone else can do that but your right we could be looking for Dan in the crowd and we could build a jail out of a big cardboard box if kevin king couldn't throw one together that fast I still think the james gang is a fun Idea as in (james reeves)heheheh

Jimmy will be in Oregon, unfortunately. We may have some chicken wire around if that would help. I put a survey on- 4th of July Float. Everyone get on and vote. Majority rules. Need responses by Thursday. Remember we made a challenge.

I think you should come back and play the piano.....

Lori- I was going to call the teachers who gave me a maybe earlier and see what they were going to do, but should I not do that now? I think we should check with Mr. VanStrien as he might of changed his work schedule just for the parade. I'll try to talk to him and Mr. Carr tomorrow and let you know for sure.
I figuredRick could ride on the float if you need him too and we'll be there Friday night also.
I'll have my 2 nieces Thursday night I think, but we can still can come and help on the float if you need us.
Dianne

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Take the survey. Heard Mr. V. might be out of town from a little source.

Danny are we suppose to come out to your parent's place? And what time? What should we bring??

06/29/09 09:48 PM #978

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Rick wasn't planning on riding on the parade???? What is up with that?

Does everyone have some western wear? That is priority #1. Once we are in western attire, we can do almost anything. Edgar as a preacher?

Are we going to be giving candy to the kiddies? We need to have people walk along the float handing out candy. New parade rule states NO throwing candy. Candy is a must. I'll buy some bags of individually wrapped sugar bombs. Edgar as a preacher? Really?

The poll is a good idea. I will support the majority unlike the presidential elections. Edgar as a preacher? HMMM? Why does my name come up to be hung? Don't even comment Edgar. Or is it hanged. Damn S.E.W. education.

I did not plan to have a meeting at my parents. I thought we were all going to Lori's house. Is Edgar a preacher?

06/30/09 06:49 AM #980

Lori Godlove (Goering)

We can come out here. Who wants to be the first one to tell Kevin to clean out the garage? Will around 7ish work for everyone? Hope we have an idea of what we are doing by then.

06/30/09 09:19 AM #981

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Danny- your vote doesnt count. I goofed on the survey- so ignore the goofy ones.

06/30/09 10:27 AM #982

Danny Beck

My vote for Nader does not count? HEE HEE! I figured I was bending the rules but I did it anyway. I will support whatever idea we come up with. Main thing is that we are getting together and having fun.

7:00PMish works for me.
